The Most Amazing Song Ever
This is possibly the most amazing song that I’ve ever heard. Mono & World’s End Girlfriend from the album Palmless Prayer Mass Murder Refrain
Telling a story without words. Building emotion with simple melodies and crushing them with distorted crashes.
If you had one more song you could hear in your life, hear this (it’s in two parts):
Volvere – Nothing More
Electronic female fronted band Volvere have style and elegance in their music.
Check out their debut single ‘Nothing More’!
Automatic Loveletter – Makeup Smeared Eyes
Automatic Loveletter are growing and set to take the UK by storm.
They remind me of Paramore, mixed with a modern Avril Lavigne and some All Time Low thrown in. It works.
The following song is one of the slow songs they do, it’s a gorgeous song which you should check out.
Lyrics
Left your t-shirt in my room
Still smells of you
And the picture you hung on the door
Lay smashed, picture perfect
Explains now
Clearly nothing left but a memory
We only made out
You never kissed me
That’s how I learned to hold back all feelingWait, please don’t go
I won’t stay
All these words on replay
I’m okay
It’s all right
Good to know that you’re finePretending everything is right to make it better
I’ll hide my make-up smeared eyes
To show that I’m fineSome how you have managed to get under my skin
More than anyone ever did
And if every hole makes a scar
And every scar marks its place
Then I will never live freely without your trace
And it’ll never be fair
I wrote my songs for you and you never even cared
So I’ll forget you
I’ll wash your t-shirt and kill the pillow
And cut you out of picturesWait, please don’t go
I won’t stay
All these words on replay
I’m okay
It’s all right
Good to know that you’re finePretending everything is right to make it better
I’ll hide my make-up smeared eyesThis drama sat shotgun
My eyes rained like autumn
Only the glove box knows how the story goes
Now that this bandage is broken
And the cuts left in open
I’ll tell you just one thing
This wasn’t worth the sting (x3)

My Luminaries – The Outsider Steps Inside
These guys are multi-talented. I’m hoping to have a feature on them very soon, but before I do here’s a little taster of how good they are.
This song – The Outsider Steps Inside – was their debut single. I believe they received some good coverage but didn’t quite break through. Why? I have no idea. Their sound is immaculate.
Upcoming Bands: Music Documentary
Two years ago three others and myself made a documentary, following a band called Amanacer (now known as Moscow Drive), looking at what it takes to make an impact in the business.
We interviewed a couple of very knowledgeable people in the industry, including John Kennedy from XFM (recorded in the studio) and a well respected local band promoter, Carl 2Bob.
The documentary searches out what it takes for a small band to become big in the industry. Enjoy!
James Blunt Comeback!
Now I have to admit that James Blunt is one of those embarrassing artists, that you secretly may like, but never ever admit.
James Blunt Comeback
Now I found Back To Bedlam a long time before it was released and pretty much fell in love with the album. I expected it to remain quite unknown but he took off and the songs were extremely overplayed and songs such as ‘Goodbye My Lover’ probably ranked up there with the most annoying songs I had ever heard.
Whilst randomly searching through some old bits and bobs I came across Back To Bedlam and gave it a listen. After not having his songs shoved down my throat for a couple of years, I really enjoyed it again.
Guilty Pleasure Song
The rest of The Music Mag will no doubt disagree with this, but I think his songs are nice and relaxing, but ah well! Everyone has their guilty pleasures in one form or another! Now Listen and cup your ears with hatred until I post a better video!
Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Pow
Ever wondered what a song, in the form of a sexual transmitted infection would sound like? The Music Mag has your answer.
The raw yet mesmerising baseline, backed up by great rapping and melodic singing is enough to hook anyone. They performed it on American Idol, which ashamedly is where I caught it. That being said, this was the finale and had some great performances including the rock legends that are KISS and many others.
Anyway, without further ado, the Boom Boom Pow Live Performance on american idol. Please let us know what you think:
Godspeed You Black Emperor
Anyone heard of Godspeed You Black Emperor? They’re damn good. If you’re in to more contemporary instrumental music, you may like them.
I’m in to a lot of bands like this at the moment. Like Post-Rock i think is the “label” to put them under. kinda similarish to 65daysofstatic, who are another awesome band, but not quite as dancey, more instrumental with big build ups and large crashes, etc.
Their albums tell a v good story, i’ll post a youtube vid to check out a track:
