Canvas Wall is a force, not just any other band! Take a listen to their single ‘Close to the Edge’ and you’ll understand what we mean. With musical influences a plenty, the end result isn’t easily pigeon-holed into any one genre and that’s a good thing. The mash-up of genres come and gone works well and sounds fresh!
Canvas Wall – Close to the Edge
Canvas Wall was formed by Simon (vocals) and Craig (drummer) who swapped the sunny island of Malta for London and its thriving music scene. Although formed some four years ago, Nathan (bass) and Alvin (guitar) completed the line up after joining in 2010.
While working on their first album with producer Dann Pursey, the band’s debut single ‘Sooner or Later’ was released in July of 2011. ‘Close to the Edge’ followed in November with Canvas Wall’s first music video; a collaboration involving the creative likes of Carmel Said, David Petch and The Mill’s team. Online songs and videos paint a great picture for those who haven’t been to a Canvas Wall gig, but these guys are as much at home on stage as they are in the studio – A definite recommend!
2012 will see Canvas Wall release their first album amidst a year of gigs across the UK. Whichever platform tickles your fancy head to Canvas Wall’s website to follow these guys and keep tuned in for new shows, videos and more great music!
